As an instructional designer, I adhere to many great learning theories and evidence-based practices including the theories of Adult Learning, the Universal Design for Learning, and the theory of Multiple Intelligences. I design content that is relevant, student-centered, and interactive. I bridge the gap between students and teachers by creating distance learning programs that encourage interaction and participation, thereby building relationships similar to the face-to-face experience. I conduct needs assessments in order to ascertain the most effective methods for the design. I combine technology, learning theory, and teaching pedagogy as I develop individualized learning tools and programs that meet the needs of each client.
Additionally, I recently designed an online training and certification program for a prolific organization. The program has run for three consecutive semesters and enrolls an average of sixty students per cohort.
